First snowfall!

The whole family bundled up to go play in the snow. The dogs loved it, running around and digging in the snow. Zawadi had her mouth open the whole time trying to catch snowflakes. She didn't seem to mind the cold at all and smiled the whole time we were outside. We can't wait to be able to take her sledding and build snowmen when she gets older.

Ms. Felkl's Frogs

On Friday we went to surprise my students. They were so excited to see us - one little girl even got tears in her eyes. They all wanted to hold Zawadi and they did such a good job being gentle with her and supporting her head. She slept through most of it but finally opened her eyes for us to snap one group picture. Being back with the kids was nice and made me realize I do miss them. They wanted me to read to them and give them their spelling test, lol. I will head back to teaching March 1 and leave my lovebug in the hands of Leah and Matthew. I am not looking forward to that day and I am so thankful to have them to care for her where I know she will be safe.

Hungry? Why wait?

This is how we decide if Zawadi is hungry or not. Daddy's nose is perfect for the test.

Bath time

Still smiling after her bath. This girl loves the water. I was finally brave enough to give her a real bath and I even climbed in with her. She loved swimming around on her back and was kicking her arms and legs all over the place and smiling that beautiful smile.

Family photo op

We went to my parent's house for a birthday lunch and had my brother take a few pictures of us. We didn't have any of the three of us since the one at the hospital. We were hoping she would wake up but a sleeping baby is better than a screaming one :-)

Say cheese!

I didn't think babies actually smiled this early, unless they were pooping, lol, but one morning while Clyde was out running errrands I was tickling Zawadi and calling her silly names and she was smiling like crazy. It was one of my favorite moments so far.

Aunt Leah came to visit and bring us delicious cookies. She was later joined by Uncle Matthew and my beautiful Bunny. Bunny looked so big compared to Zawadi and it showed us all just how quickly time flies. We are really looking forward to the girls spending time together in a few months.

Matching curls.

Nothing like a lil lovin' from Daddy to warm up after a bath.

First bath

Clyde and I gave Zawadi her first sponge bath. She didn't love it and she was glad to be wrapped up in her bear towel and warmed up.

First car ride home

We got to bundle Zawadi up and come home from the hospital on January 4 at about 2:00. We were so excited to finally be home as a family and she did great on her first car ride.

And she arrives!

Zawadi Elizabeth Awuor Owino arrived on January 3, 2010 at 3:14 am after 20+ hours of delivery. She was 7 lbs. 6 oz., 20 inches long, and absolutely beautiful.
